We got a little distracted this past week in Eastern Iowa. This photo from the University of Iowa’s online paper, for instance, is of the street I took into Iowa City just last Monday. More tomorrow.

So, I’ve been thinking about you and your Iowa writing adventure all week. Since yesterday, I’ve been thinking about calling my friend Kevin to see if all his Iowa City friends are ok. It didn’t occur to me until just now that I should be checking to see if you are ok. Disconnect!

Yes, do give Kevin a call, and let us know how he is. More houses flooded in Iowa City than was initially expected, and even with the flood waters beginning to recede (as of earlier this week) the damage was severe and the clean-up is likely to take a long time.
