Dear AlmostGotIt,
Really their assessment was detatched one-sided psycho-babble. Uh, oh, shields up and no one will ever be able to tell! I can understand it but, come on, it really lacked graciousness, and the reality that interviews are an exchange of thoughts, feelings, impressions, and evaluations. The internet is a public forum. ;-)

Thank you very kindly, dear friend Kathy. The job certainly wasn't a good fit, but this wasn't the best way to tell the folks so (if they couldn't tell already, during our very friendly but illuminating interview!!)

Mostly, I hate offending anyone or hurting feelings. That's the part I feel bad about, in case I have done either of those things here. The joke was entirely on me yesterday for being such a bad fit, and I hope that came across. The people I met with yesterday impressed me very much, and are very good at what they do. I'm only *MORE* impressed, now! And I wish them very well.

An uncomfortable situation, dear Almost. It IS funny, and I congratulate you that you can giggle about it. I lie in bed after this sort of event (done by yours truly without the aid of a computer!) and cringe inwardly. The job you interviewed for was wrong anyway, so, like your entry about the boo-boos you and Mr. Almost recently were a party to, the shrug and giggle you employ is a good model for me. I can remember and cringe at embarrassing moments from GRADE school. I must learn to move on like you!
