Ta Da! Splinter-Removal Glasses!
February 18, 2009 By: almostgotit Category: Chapter 2, Jerry, Uncategorized, dog, humor, reading glasses
My First Pair. 12-year-old helped me pick them out. I don’t actually need them for reading yet, but just to see very tiny things at very close range: like microscopic splinters, and tiny registration codes on computer towers which you have to climb under tables and hang upside-down to see in the first place.
Are they not badass and bodacious?

They are badass and bodacious, just the style for you and that Jerry dog.

You need a beaded chain to go with

‘Soon as Jerry gives them back to me, I’ll add a funky chain for sure.

Would wearing a pair of these help me connect better with my patients?

Oh absolutely, Tim! (and thanks for coming by to comment!)

Love them. You are way ahead of me in not needing reading glasses until now…..!

hello – newbie here, found you this week – enjoying it all so far!
I love getting new glasses but wow they’re sooooo boring once you’ve owned them for a year or so. My eyes are staying the same prescription so no excuse to buy a new pair – i just get bored of seeing the same pair on my face! If cash permitted I think I could become the Imelda Marcos of spectacles coz there are so many cool ones out there.

Hello “Mrs. Dirty Boots” (anyone with that name is an automatic friend for life). Thanks so much for reading, and I *love* your blog (The Self Sufficient Life.) So you live off-grid with your husband on a Spanish mountain side, eating pickled beets and raising chickens… sigh. We’ll just ignore for the moment how much work that is!!

I bet you’ve been to Carpe Librum! Got my first pair there, too. Perhaps that should be a tradition!

Am waiting till after we’ve moved to Saint John, but I’ll be needing bifocals or reading glasses or something too. Never thought of wearing glasses that call attention to my face!!! You’re very brave; I wonder if I would have the courage?

I *did* in fact get them at Carpe Librum (our local independent book store, for you non-Knoxvillians). @true – I probably need them more than I think: “Denial isn’t just a river in Egypt…” @ Dennis: will you lend him your great fedora, too? @ Trika & Lavenderbay: hmm.. ‘rye-diculous’ and ‘very brave:’ what are you saying, exactly?
