Elizabeth Raney Burman has lived and worked in a number of places, including Seattle, Bellevue, and Walla Walla (all in Washington); San Antonio (Texas); St. Louis (Missouri); Northampton (Massachusetts); Toronto (Canada); Oxford (England); and Knoxville (Tennessee).
While raising her children and following her husband from city to city, she paid off his student loans and bought the Moose Tracks ice cream by working a number of (truly) odd jobs including non-profit management, freelance writing and editing, and website development.
She recently went back to work full-time, and the laundry is really piling up.
